About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (ENDIST) has published a Special Notice regarding an organized site visit for the Bar Harbor Breakwater Repair Project in Bar Harbor, Maine. The site visit is scheduled for November 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, with a weather contingency rescheduling to November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time if needed. Participants will convene at the Harbormaster Office located at 3 Town Pier, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609. This Special Notice is classified under the heavy and civil engineering construction category and falls within the scope of construction and restoration of real property. The opportunity does not include any specific set-asides and is open to interested contractors in the relevant field.
The primary objective of this site visit is to provide prospective contractors with an opportunity to observe the breakwater infrastructure that will be subject to repair work under a forthcoming federal contract. Interested contractors must RSVP to Contract Specialist Kayla Gonsalves at Kayla.Gonsalves@USACE.army.mil no later than 12:00 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, providing company name, number of participants, email addresses, and cell phone numbers for each attendee. There are no stated eligibility restrictions, though contractors should note that the breakwater inspection will be conducted by boat and all participants riding on the vessel are required to provide their own personal flotation devices (PFDs), as the government will not supply them. This site visit represents an informational opportunity for contractors to assess project scope and site conditions prior to bidding on the anticipated repair contract.
