About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a civilian agency within the Department of Justice, has issued a Special Notice for a site lease acquisition. The DEA intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to The Austonian Condominium Association, Inc., located at 200 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701. This notice announces the government's intent to proceed with a non-competitive procurement rather than open the requirement to full and open competition. The acquisition will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures with NAICS code 531120. The contracting officer for this procurement is Jose L. Marin, who can be reached at jose.l.marin@dea.gov.
The DEA requires a site lease to support communications operations, and The Austonian Condominium Association has been identified as the sole source capable of providing the necessary antenna site due to unique geographic and physical factors that optimize antenna coverage for DEA communications systems. The procurement justification indicates that competitive procedures would be technologically impracticable and cost prohibitive given the specific site requirements. Interested parties may submit responses by April 7, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST, though this notice explicitly states that a Request for Quotation is not available and responses to this notice will not obligate the government to compete the requirement. The acquisition is not designated as a small business set-aside, and the government reserves the right to reject all submissions if deemed in its best interest. Award will be made on a lowest price/technically acceptable basis on an all-or-none basis, with the place of performance in San Antonio, TX.
