About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command's Health Readiness Contracting Office intends to procure SimX virtual reality medical training software for Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina through a sole source contract. The requirement encompasses a comprehensive 5-year VR training solution including annual licenses for six VR headset installations, unlimited moderator client installations, and ongoing software support and maintenance with email and phone support during business hours. The contract will be structured as a firm fixed price arrangement for non-personal services under NAICS code 611710 (Educational Support Services) and PSC code R420 (Support-Professional: Certifications and Accreditations). The solicitation W81K04-25-Q-A017 will be posted on SAM.gov in the near future, with a response deadline of July 29, 2025. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to contract award, and the points of contact are Cynthia A. Richardson-Rhone and Contracting Officer Michael McCollum.
This procurement is designated as a sole source contract with no set-aside designations, indicating the Army has identified a specific vendor as the only source capable of providing the required VR medical training capabilities. The contract period of performance spans five years from August 28, 2025 through August 27, 2030, providing the government with a substantial long-term training solution. Each contract year includes licensing for six VR headset installations along with unlimited moderator client installations, suggesting a scalable training program capable of supporting multiple simultaneous users and instructors. The requirement emphasizes ongoing support through annual software updates to base software and all licensed scenarios, ensuring the training system remains current with evolving medical procedures and technologies. No specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, though the multi-year nature and comprehensive support requirements suggest a significant investment in advanced medical training capabilities.
