About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 5 units of Signal Stripper Assemblies under NSN 7R-5845-011020079-HT, classified as underwater sound equipment. This pre-solicitation notice indicates the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may express interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The procurement requires FOB origin delivery terms, with early and incremental deliveries being acceptable. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements for consideration, though this notice itself is not a request for competitive proposals. Additionally, parties wishing to satisfy the requirement with commercial items must identify their interest and capability within 15 days of the notice publication.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations, as indicated by the "No Set-Aside Used" classification. The contract opportunity specifies a quantity of 5 units (5 EA) for delivery, with the reference number 3322535 assigned to this requirement. No incumbent contractors or potential award values are specified in the pre-solicitation documentation. The Government has determined not to use FAR Part 12 acquisition procedures for commercial items based on their market research, suggesting this is likely a specialized military specification requirement. The extended due date of June 18, 2025, provides substantial time for interested contractors to prepare and submit their responses or capability statements to the contracting officer.
