About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a Low Rate Initial Production contract to procure seven AN/SPN-50(V)1 Shipboard Air Traffic Radars, interim sustainment, hardware support, and associated data from fiscal years 2020 through 2022. This sole source contract will be awarded pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 to Saab Defense and Security USA, LLC as the Navy does not possess adequate technical data to competitively award these requirements and maintaining deliveries for the Naval Sea Systems Command's shipbuilding program would face unacceptable delays.
There is no set-aside designation for this procurement. The Government does not intend to use FAR Part 12 and interested firms should contact Mr. Michael Deskiewicz of Saab for potential subcontracting opportunities. The estimated quantity being procured is seven AN/SPN-50(V)1 radars to be integrated into new ship construction from 2020 through 2022.

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Low Rate Initial Production contract to Saab Defense and Security USA, LLC, East Syracuse, New York. The contract will procure AN/SPN-50(V)1 Shipboard Air Traffic Radars, interim sustainment, hardware support, and associated data in fiscal years 2020-2022. The total estimated quantity of AN/SPN-50(V)1 radars being procured is seven.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This effort is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to the provisions of FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." The U.S. Navy does not possess adequate technical data necessary to competitively award these requirements. Award to a source other than Saab would result in an unacceptable delay in NAVAIR's requirement to field and integrate the design into new construction hulls and maintain deliveries required for the Naval Sea Systems Command's shipbuilding program.
The Government does not intend to use the provisions of FAR Part 12 for this acquisition. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities may contact Mr. Michael Deskiewicz at Saab at Michael.Deskiewicz@saabusa.com.
