About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, is seeking qualified sources for a non-commercial construction project involving the replacement of siding at the Shenango Ranger Station building located in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for market research and planning purposes to identify potential qualified contractors, their size classifications, and socio-economic status before issuing a formal solicitation. The scope of work encompasses the removal and disposal of existing cedar siding, insulation, and roofing components, followed by the installation of new treated lumber furring, insulation, and approximately 2,500 square feet of lap cement fiberboard siding with associated trim and flashing. Contractors must also manage the temporary relocation and reinstallation of building-mounted equipment such as electrical service lines, internet cables, exterior lighting, and air conditioning units while maintaining service continuity. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 238170 (Siding Contractors) and PSC code Y1QA (Construction of Restoration of Real Property). Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are due by January 13, 2026, and responders should note that this notice does not constitute a binding solicitation, and the government will not reimburse any costs associated with preparing a response.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation, meaning it is open to all qualified contractors regardless of size or socio-economic status. No incumbent contractor or current award value information has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The project requires the installation of new roofing components including aluminum gravel stops and flashing integrated with the existing EPDM roof, as well as the adjustment and reinstallation of existing windows and doors with new prefinished extruded aluminum headers and sills. While specific budget or award value ranges are not provided in this notice, the scope of approximately 2,500 square feet of siding replacement suggests a moderately-sized construction project. Following the review of responses to this Sources Sought Notice, the Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District may publish a formal solicitation on SAM.gov, at which time qualified contractors will have an opportunity to submit binding offers for contract award consideration.
