About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a specialized sensor system (NSN 7H-5905-016677577) with a quantity of 12 units to be delivered FOB Origin. The procurement is for a specific thermal sensor that must be acquired from or repaired by a source specified on source control or selected item drawings as defined by DoD-STD-100. Technical data, government data rights, and manufacturing/repair knowledge are not broadly available, which limits potential sources. Interested firms are required to include their CAGE Code on solicitation requests, and all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond within 45 days of the notice's publication. The government intends to negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, and while this is not a competitive proposal request, all submissions received within the specified timeframe will be considered.

No specific set-aside has been designated for this procurement, and the current notice does not identify any incumbent contractors. The contract opportunity was posted on November 28, 2024, with a response due date of May 16, 2025, indicating a procurement timeline of approximately six months. The procurement is specifically for 12 units of a sensor system categorized under PSC Category 5905-P (Resistors), with delivery expected at the point of origin. Potential vendors should note that the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, though interested parties may propose commercial alternatives within 15 days of the notice. Documents related to the procurement can be obtained through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) at Document Automation and Production Service in Philadelphia, PA, with various access methods including online resources and direct contact methods.
