About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support Philadelphia is seeking to procure repair services for 6 smoke detector sensors under NSN 7R-1680-015890729-P8. The agency intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronics Systems, Inc., as they are the Original Equipment Manufacturer and the only known source capable of providing repair support for these specialized aircraft components. The procurement will follow FAR Part 13 procedures and requires Source Approval for any firms not already approved to manufacture this material. Interested organizations may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations within 45 days of publication, with submissions accepted via email to Dylan.e.payne.civ@us.navy.mil. The anticipated award date is June 2025, with a due date of August 15, 2025, and the solicitation will be posted electronically through NECO.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and specifically identifies Curtiss-Wright Controls Electronics Systems, Inc. (CAGE: 1BT62) as the intended sole source contractor due to their status as the OEM. The contract calls for the repair of exactly 6 units of the smoke detector sensors (P/N: 3301-2) with delivery FOB origin. The government does not own the technical data or rights necessary to source these repairs from alternative suppliers, which reinforces the sole source justification. While no specific contract value is mentioned in the notice, the procurement falls under the Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components category (PSC 1680) and will not be delayed to accommodate Source Approval Request processing for potential new suppliers.
