About this opportunity

Paragraph 1:

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking interested contractors to provide Self Locating Datum Marker Buoys (SLDMBs) for use in Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. The SLDMB is an effective method to obtain Total Water Current (TWC) data in the vicinity of a Last Known Position (LKP) during SAR cases. The USCG is currently using the SLDMB-3 provided by Metocean Data Systems and is looking for contractors to potentially provide this or similar products. The marker buoys must be capable of operating in heavy weather conditions and be expendable once deployed. This is a source sought synopsis, not a solicitation, and the government will not pay for responses or associated costs.

Paragraph 2:

The USCG is seeking information on whether respondents are large or small businesses, including small, emergent, or disadvantaged firms, as well as whether they are HUBZone, woman-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, or have their products/services listed on a GSA schedule. No incumbent contractors or award values are mentioned, and the USCG has not indicated a specific quantity of SLDMBs or timeline for the services.
