About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support is conducting market research to identify potential sources for portable all-mode shipping and storage containers, known as MulePac Tactical Shipping and Storage Containers. These specialized containers are designed for versatile transportation via LHS flat-rack, helicopter, or HMMWV, and must be flame resistant, air-droppable, weather resistant, and reusable for secure material transport in various environments, including two container variants capable of carrying water. DLA is exploring options to either issue a new requirements-type contract or increase the value of an existing contract for these items, with any resultant award not exceeding five years. This sources sought notice is issued solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment by the government. Interested contractors must submit their responses by 5:00 PM EDT on August 30, 2025, to Ronen Elyasiani and Sean Tyler via email, with the understanding that participation is voluntary and the government assumes no financial responsibility for submission costs.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is currently structured as a full and open competition for market research purposes. The requirements are presently sole-sourced to AIRGO Industries, Inc. (CAGE: 1Y4M7), indicating an existing contractual relationship that DLA is evaluating for potential expansion or competition. The attached market research survey details multiple National Stock Numbers covering various container types with estimated annual quantities ranging from 6 to 5,288 units, though specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation phase. The containers fall under NAICS code 332439 for Other Metal Container Manufacturing and PSC code 8145 for Specialized Shipping and Storage Containers. Any future solicitation would be advertised on SAM.gov, requiring interested parties to monitor the platform independently for formal procurement opportunities.
