About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District has issued a Special Notice seeking one-on-one interviews with construction firms regarding the Department of Veterans Affairs Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics (SORCC) project located in White City, Oregon. This Special Notice was published on January 6, 2025, with a response deadline of January 15, 2025, and is categorized under Commercial and Institutional Building Construction (NAICS 236220). The notice specifically targets construction firms that do not plan to submit a proposal for the VA White City SORCC requirement. The USACE is conducting research to gain insights into industry perspectives and potential barriers to participation in this project.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to gather voluntary input from construction firms through individual teleconference meetings to understand their reasons for not pursuing the SORCC project. Eligible contractors will receive specific questions and be provided a brief teleconference time to share their perspectives. While firms can ask questions during the process, USACE will defer addressing them until a subsequent industry event to ensure all participants receive consistent information. It is important to note that this is purely a research initiative and not a request for proposal, meaning no contract award will result from participation. The government aims to use the gathered insights to potentially improve future project attractiveness and understand industry engagement challenges. Participation is voluntary, and the focus is on obtaining candid feedback from construction firms about their interest or hesitation regarding the VA White City SORCC project.
