About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 7 is seeking seamstress services for the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center through this pre-solicitation notice. The contractor will provide comprehensive seamstress and uniform issuance services at the TVAMC Textile Care Processing Facility, including repairing uniforms, hemming and lengthening garments, sewing buttons, applying patches, making alterations to government-owned uniforms and patient clothing, and issuing uniforms from computer-generated work orders. Additional responsibilities include inspecting clean linen for repair or discard recommendations, preparing fair wear and tear reports, conducting inventory control of government uniforms, and participating in annual linen inventory activities. The contractor must provide uninterrupted service and will be required to work on-site at the VA facility. The opportunity was posted on June 12, 2025, with a due date of June 17, 2025, providing potential bidders with a narrow five-day window to respond.

This opportunity is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to qualifying contractors within that category. The contract structure includes a firm-fixed price base contract with four option years, though specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The base contract requires 16 hours per week of service across three days, with two days at 8 hours each, while the option years reduce the commitment to 8 hours per week on a single day. No current incumbent contractor is identified in the notice. The work falls under NAICS code 315210 for Cut and Sew Apparel Contractors and PSC code 8305 for Textile Fabrics. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining continuous operations at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center's textile care facility throughout the contract period.
