About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 91 metallic aircraft seals (NSN 7R-2840-014106751-DQ) with a specific technical data package (TDP VER 016). This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity to maintain part quality, with only previously approved sources eligible to submit proposals. Potential contractors must submit detailed information from the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, demonstrating their capability to produce the flight-critical component. Offers that fail to provide complete documentation or evidence of previous source approval will be automatically disqualified. The solicitation requires thorough technical documentation and proof of manufacturing/repair knowledge specific to this unique aerospace component.
The proposed acquisition is 100% set aside for small business concerns, with potential specific set-aside categories including HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned, or Women-Owned Small Business programs. The contract is posted on December 4, 2024, with proposals due by February 17, 2025, indicating approximately two and a half months for potential bidders to prepare their submissions. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves a relatively small quantity of 91 units to be delivered FOB Origin. The solicitation emphasizes the critical nature of the part, noting that if source approval cannot be processed in time, award may proceed based on fleet support needs. Interested small businesses must carefully review the technical requirements and source approval procedures to be considered for this specialized aerospace component contract.
