About this opportunity
The U.S. Geological Survey published a Special Notice of intent to solicit from a single source for a seafloor geodetic capability project. The Notice indicates the agency's intent to negotiate a purchase order with Liquid Robotics to provide an autonomous ocean-surface vessel integrated with a GPS-A module and acoustic transponders.
The Notice aims to satisfy requirements under the Federal Acquisition Regulation to conduct a sole source procurement. It provides eligible contractors until January 24, 2021 to submit responses for consideration, though no solicitation will be issued as the agency has determined not to compete the action. The Notice describes requirements for the vessel including dimensions less than 10.5 feet long with a minimum 15 watt power payload and 4.5 kWh battery capacity to transport the GPS-A module and position seafloor benchmarks as part of the seafloor geodetic capability project. Liquid Robotics is identified as the only source currently able to meet requirements.
