Place of performance is Fort Jones, CA 96032. The solicitation covers an estimated 23–28 head of Forest Service stock for a 12-month period from July 1, 2026, through July 1, 2027. The contractor must provide exclusive pasture and holding space with minimum 50-acre pasture containing available forage, adequate water source supplying at least 700 gallons per day, 1–5 acre holding space during field season (mid-April to mid-October), and hay storage capacity for 25 tons of three-string bales. All facilities must be located no more than 30 miles from the Fort Jones District Office, the USFS Robinson pasture facility, and trailheads, with adequate access for Government truck/trailer maneuvering and stock loading/unloading. The contractor must maintain adequate fencing to safely contain stock free of hazards and provide shelter from natural elements. The Government furnishes feed, nutritional supplements including salt, weekly welfare checks, and fencing inspections. Two optional line items are available: 25 tons of supplemental feed stored on-site and 20 tons of supplemental feed stored off-site.
