About this opportunity

This pre-solicitation notice seeks to procure welding instructor services at the Schenck Job Corps Center in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina from the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. The contractor shall provide one instructor to train a minimum of 24 students at a time in a welding program, with objectives of developing skills for employment as a welding production line worker. Responses are due no later than July 11, 2022 and should include a capabilities statement and UEI or CAGE code.

No set-aside designations were used. The statement of work provides the performance period will be from September 2022 to August 2023, renewable annually. The government will provide the training facility, equipment, materials and vehicles to support the program, while the contractor will invoice monthly for services rendered.

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS announcement to be used for preliminary market research purposes only. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis. This is not a Solicitation, and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests.

The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of various members of Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), and Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) to compete and perform service under a contract for the attached Performance Work Statement. A Request for Quote (RFQ) solicitation and firm fixed priced contract is contemplated depending upon the responses to this synopsis.

This synopsis summarizes the requirements for the contractor to provide Welding Instructor Service at the Schenck Job Corp Center (JCC) in Pisgah Forest, NC located at 98 Schenck Dr. Pisgah Forest, NC 28768.

The contractor shall perform welding instructor services at the Schenck JCC in accordance with the attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement.

All responses shall be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist, Samuel Smith at samuel.smith@usda.gov. Responses are due no later than 2:00PM MST on July 11, 2022, at minimum responses should include a capabilities statement, and a UEI or CAGE code.
