About this opportunity

This Special Notice announces the intent to award a sole source contract to Techno-Sciences LLC for operations and maintenance support of Medium Earth Orbit Local User Terminals in Hawaii and Florida for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The NOAA National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service Search and Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking Program requires continued support and refurbishment of existing terminals and a new phased array antenna in Florida.

The notice describes the sole source justification being prepared due to the proprietary nature of Techno-Sciences LLC's terminals. The base period of performance is six months with four option years, and award is anticipated in October 2021. While not a request for competitive quotes, vendors have ten days to submit documentation questioning the sole source determination or believing they can fully provide the required services. Any decision not to pursue competition would be at the government's discretion.
