About this opportunity
The Department of the Army's Fort Knox Qualified Recycle Program is soliciting bids for the sale of Lot #2 Scrap Metals, which includes approximately 41,645 pounds of recyclable metal materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, transformers, electric motors, and aluminum wheels. The solicitation invites interested vendors to submit comprehensive proposals by April 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, with bids to be emailed to Jamie Daley and Tara Mounce. Evaluation will be based on the best price offered, with potential additional vetting requirements including verification of the bidder's SAM account, DUNS number, and CAGE code. Bidders are required to complete the solicitation document fully, including signatures, contact information, and pricing on page 2. The Fort Knox QRP allows for a site visit to examine materials before bidding and will provide a forklift for loading.
The solicitation does not indicate any specific set-aside designations and covers a single load of recyclable materials. The winning bidder will be responsible for picking up the materials within 10 working days using a 53 ft. van trailer, with payment terms structured as an initial 80% payment at pickup and the remaining balance due within 15 calendar days. The place of performance is Fort Knox, Kentucky, with the total volume of materials spread across 16 bales and 26 Gaylord boxes. The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations during material removal and transportation. The Fort Knox QRP reserves the right to require full upfront payment if the bidder cannot be properly verified through standard government procurement channels.
