About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking contractors for a maintenance dredging project in Bay County, Michigan. The project involves routine operations and maintenance dredging to address shoaling and sedimentation in the Saginaw River, with material removal occurring in the upper and lower river sections. Dredging will target specific river segments to achieve project depth, with material placement at a designated Dredge Material Disposal Facility (DMDF). The government intends to issue this as a firm-fixed price contract through an Invitation for Bid (IFB) process, with an anticipated solicitation posting at the end of April 2025. Evaluation will focus on determining the lowest priced bid from a responsible contractor, with the expectation that bidders meet the requirements outlined in the solicitation package.
The contract is designated as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 237990, which has a size standard of $37 million in average annual receipts. The estimated contract value ranges between $1 million and $5 million, with a projected performance period of less than 60 days and a completion date of October 31, 2025. Interested contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible to bid. A bid bond equal to the offer amount will be required for participation. DMDF maintenance will include additional tasks such as placing gravel on existing roads, mowing, and grubbing. The solicitation documents and associated materials will be available electronically through SAM.gov and the PIEE solicitation module, ensuring transparent and accessible procurement processes.
