About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking replacement parts for safety management switches and related components used in repair and modification work, classified under PSC 1005 (Guns, Through 30mm). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond. This pre-solicitation notice indicates that the Government does not own the data or rights necessary to source this part from additional vendors, and it has been determined uneconomical to purchase such data rights or reverse engineer the component. Technical documentation including Military and Federal Specifications, Qualified Products Lists, and related standards are available through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, via the ASSIST-Online system or by contacting the ASSIST Help Desk. The due date for this opportunity is February 6, 2026, and interested parties have 45 days from the publication date (March 14, 2023) to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements.

This procurement involves no set-aside designations and does not identify specific incumbent contractors. The contract calls for the purchase of 25 units (each) of NSN 7H-1005-015661844, Technical Data Package Version 009, with delivery on a Free on Board (FOB) Origin basis. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The extended timeline from the original posting date of March 14, 2023, to the current due date of February 6, 2026, suggests this may be a complex procurement with significant lead time requirements or an opportunity that has been in market for an extended period to identify capable sources.
