About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 9 is conducting market research for a comprehensive linen and laundry services contract for the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. The pre-solicitation notice seeks potential contractors capable of providing an off-site laundry plant, processing approximately 1,322,035 pounds of linen annually, and managing textile services for the medical center and affiliated outpatient clinics. Interested vendors must submit responses via email to douglas.huddy@va.gov by May 13, 2025, including a statement of interest, company details, size status, service capability statement, SAM Entity Unique Identifier, and examples of similar facility services. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and are encouraged to specify any certification status such as SDVOSB, VOSB, Hub zone, 8(a), or women-owned. The government emphasizes that this is a market research request and not a formal solicitation, with any future solicitation to be announced on the Contract Opportunities website.

No specific set-aside has been designated for this contract opportunity, which falls under NAICS code 812320 for Drycleaning and Laundry Services. The Performance Work Statement requires contractors to have at least three years of experience in medical center laundry services and maintain a certified plant manager. Contractors must comply with industry standards and provide an electronic linen ordering system, processing various textile items including sheets, towels, patient gowns, scrubs, and specialized medical linens. While no specific award value is mentioned, the substantial annual linen processing volume of 1,322,035 pounds suggests a significant contract opportunity. The contract will require detailed reporting, strict quality control measures, and the ability to manage comprehensive laundry services for a medical facility. Potential vendors are advised to carefully review the attached Performance Work Statement and prepare a comprehensive response demonstrating their capabilities in medical laundry services.
