About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure aircraft rudders, specifically 3 units with National Stock Number 7R-1560-011796853-EK. The proposed contract action will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement. Interested contractors must demonstrate their capability to meet the government's requirements within 45 days of the pre-solicitation notice (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). Qualification requirements will be strictly evaluated, and award will only be made if the offeror, product, and manufacturer meet all specified standards. Contractors can obtain necessary military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, with multiple document access methods including online platforms and direct contact methods.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement. The contract will be delivered FOB Origin, with interested parties required to demonstrate technical capabilities and compliance with military specifications. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement involves three aircraft rudder units, suggesting a specialized and potentially high-value contract. Contractors are advised that the government is not using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, but interested parties may still propose commercial solutions within 15 days of the notice. Additional information and documentation can be obtained through the DODSSP, with multiple contact methods including phone numbers (215-697-2667 and 215-697-2179) and a mailing address in Philadelphia. The final solicitation and award will be contingent upon meeting all qualification requirements specified in the contract documents.
