About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure aircraft rudders, specifically three units with National Stock Number 7R-1560-011796852-EK, under a pre-solicitation notice. The proposed contract will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement. Interested vendors may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the publication date (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will evaluate submissions to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, with a final award contingent upon the offeror, product/service, and manufacturer meeting specific qualification requirements. Potential vendors can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoDSingle Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, PA, using online resources like ASSIST-Online or by contacting the ASSIST Help Desk.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves three aircraft rudder units delivered FOB origin. The solicitation was posted on December 6, 2024, with responses due by January 20, 2025. Notably, the government has determined that commercial item acquisition policies from FAR Part 12 will not be applied to this procurement. Interested commercial item providers have 15 days from the notice date to communicate their capabilities to the contracting officer. The Product Service Code (PSC) for this procurement is 1560, categorized under Airframe Structural Components, which suggests the technical complexity and specialized nature of the required equipment.
