About this opportunity

William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), operating under the Department of the Army Medical Command, is conducting a sources sought notice to identify potential vendors for a Rubidium-82 Generator (Sr-82/Rb-82) system with associated accessories for cardiac positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The procurement requires an FDA-approved, complete generator system compatible with the current Bracco Diagnostics CardioGen-82 Infusion System that utilizes a Strontium-82 parent isotope to produce short-lived Rb-82 daughter isotope for myocardial perfusion imaging. Key requirements include FDA-approved breakthrough level compliance, proprietary imaging software such as HeartSee, automated daily eluate testing, support for 10-15+ patient studies per day, and rapid sequential rest/stress imaging capability within 30-45 minutes with accurate myocardial blood flow quantification. The government is specifically seeking company name, Unique Entity ID, CAGE code, point of contact information, and socio-economic classification data, along with a capability statement limited to ten pages. This sources sought notice was posted on April 24, 2026, with a response deadline of May 6, 2026, and the government emphasizes that this notice is for market research and planning purposes only, not a formal solicitation announcement.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and includes no identified incumbent contractors or specific budget range in the sources sought notice. The generator system must provide a functional lifespan of 4-12 weeks with consistent Rb-82 yield and require regular replacement or reloading to prevent operational downtime. Associated accessories specified in the requirement include patient administration sets, vented waste bottle caps, elution vial shields, thermal printer paper, accessory tubing packs, elution test vials, and saline tags compatible with the CardioGen-82 system. The government anticipates that responses will inform its acquisition strategy, and if insufficient information is received to verify competitive potential, a sole-source contract may be pursued. Potential offerors should note that non-response to this sources sought notice does not preclude future participation in any Request for Quote (RFQ) if issued, and vendors must monitor the contracting site for additional procurement information.
