About this opportunity
The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is conducting market research to identify businesses capable of providing drone-based inspection services for railroad grade crossings. The goal is to create a database of railroad bridges using automated photogrammetry analysis tools. Key requirements include compliance with NDAA regulations, providing an integrated UAS solution with real-time data sharing and communication capabilities, and the ability to offer technical training. Responses detailing the vendor's qualifications, past experience, and pricing information are due by December 6, 2024. This is not a request for proposal, but rather a sources sought notice to gauge industry interest and capabilities prior to a future solicitation.
The sources sought notice is open to all business concerns of any size or socioeconomic status. No specific set-aside designation is mentioned. While incumbent contractors are not named, the FRA is seeking to identify all qualified parties, including small businesses, that can potentially meet the stated requirements. Pricing details provided in responses will be for information purposes only, as this is not a competitive procurement at this time.
