About this opportunity
The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) intends to solicit and negotiate a non-competitive sole source contract for the refurbishment and repair of a Virginia-class submarine's secondary propulsion system rotational deployment mechanism (SPS RDM). The government is seeking a qualified and authorized original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to provide these services, specifically Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Corporation, who owns the proprietary procedures, drawings, processes, and equipment necessary to refurbish the RDM. A sources sought notice was previously posted, but no viable responses were received. The total estimated value of the contract is $397,837.50 with a period of performance from 9/30/24 to 9/29/25.
This procurement is not set aside for any specific business category. Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Corporation is the incumbent contractor, and no other contractors are capable of providing these specialized refurbishment services. The anticipated costs are expected to be fair and reasonable based on a previous contract, and future competition for these types of services will be assessed if another potential source emerges.
