About this opportunity
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of two (2) Rotary Joints for the Tail Doppler Radar (TDR) system on the NOAA G-550 Aircraft. This rotary joint is essential to NOAA's mission to provide weather forecasting and hurricane intensity monitoring capabilities using the TDR antenna.
The purpose of this Notice is to solicit interest for a sole-source contract with Frontgrade Technologies, the only qualified source identified by NOAA. The sole-source justification indicates that Frontgrade Technologies possesses the proprietary engineering drawings and test procedures required for this specific rotary joint design. Responses to this Notice must be submitted by 12:00 PM EDT on June 1, 2024, and any interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. NOAA will only conduct a competitive procurement if an interested party can demonstrate they are capable of meeting the requirements.
