About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Baltimore intends to solicit rodent control services for flood protection projects or dams, with a response deadline of August 13, 2026. No set-aside applies.
Work involves exterminating groundhogs in earthen sections of flood protection infrastructure using commercial-quality gas cartridges containing at least 53% sodium nitrate. The Technical Point of Contact will flag all active burrows requiring treatment before work begins. Contractor teams must consist of at least two people to monitor all escape holes during treatment. After cartridge deployment, the Contractor must immediately cover all openings to contain gas, then fill treated burrows with a slurry mixture of 90% earth and 10% bentonite using a low-pressure pump to eliminate voids. The top six inches of each burrow shall be filled with topsoil, graded to match surrounding elevation, seeded, and covered with straw or hay matting. All work must follow manufacturer specifications for the gas cartridges.
The Contractor shall submit Daily Quality Control Reports to the TPOC. The TPOC will inspect all flagged burrows within one week of completion to verify prescribed treatment.
