About this opportunity

The U.S. Army is issuing a Request for Information to assess commercially available remote and autonomous technologies that can be integrated with existing construction equipment platforms for combat engineering missions, with responses due by July 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This is market research under FAR Part 10 and will not result in contract awards; responses are voluntary and uncompensated.

The Army seeks solutions from OEMs, autonomy software providers, sensor specialists, systems integrators, and AI developers addressing five primary problem statements: autonomy or remote-operation capabilities for medium dozers (65,000-lb class), High Mobility Engineer Excavators (HMEE-IV), and skid steer loaders (7,000-lb class with 2,500-lb lift capacity); natively integrated robotic construction platforms; and unmanned aerial and ground vehicle platforms for site survey, reconnaissance, terrain mapping, and persistent surveillance. The Government does not seek a ground-up robotic platform but rather solutions integrating commercial and dual-use autonomy stacks, perception systems, AI/Machine Learning decision aids, and robotic kits with existing equipment.

Respondents must address system architecture, command and control capabilities, safety verification and validation, modular open systems approach compliance, cybersecurity posture (including CMMC and NIST compliance), Technology Readiness Level, Manufacturing Readiness Level, domestic manufacturing footprint, and rough order of magnitude cost and schedule estimates including non-recurring engineering costs, per-unit production costs across multiple quantity ranges, production timelines, long-lead materials, and sustainment requirements. Responses are limited to ten pages per solution (excluding attachments and certifications), formatted in MS Word or PDF using Times New Roman 12-point font with one-inch margins, submitted to david.s.berosik.civ@army.mil by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on July 8, 2026. Proprietary information must be clearly marked; the Government reserves the right to employ AI tools in analysis while maintaining safeguards for proprietary and source selection sensitive information.
