About this opportunity

The U.S. Coast Guard is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential vendors for 16-ton and 5-ton diesel forklifts on behalf of the Philippines Navy through Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The procurement seeks heavy-duty forklifts with enclosed cabs designed for lifting operations on concrete, asphalt, and gravel surfaces, with specific fork dimensions of 1200 x 200 x 90 mm for the 16-ton model and 1200 x 150 x 60 mm for the 5-ton model. All proposed equipment must comply with applicable environmental regulations in the Philippines, as the forklifts will be shipped to that country. The Coast Guard is requesting comprehensive information from interested parties, including company details, technical specifications, product brochures, warranty options up to two years, and rough order of magnitude cost estimates. The RFI responses are due by September 16, 2025, and the applicable NAICS code is 333924 - Industrial Truck, Tractor, Trailer, and Stacker Machinery Manufacturing.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to both U.S. and overseas qualified sources who can provide both forklift models. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the notice, and no specific award values or budget ranges have been disclosed at this market research stage. The Coast Guard is particularly interested in vendors with existing government-wide acquisition contracts (GWAC) such as GSA schedules or other strategically sourced contracts that could facilitate future ordering. The procurement appears to be for a limited quantity of specialized heavy-duty forklifts rather than a large-scale acquisition, though exact quantities are not specified in the RFI. The timeline for any subsequent solicitation or award has not been established, as this is currently in the preliminary market research phase.
