About this opportunity
The Center for the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is issuing a Request for Information to collect feedback from antifungal development partners, with responses due June 21, 2026. This RFI serves planning purposes for potential future acquisitions and does not commit the government to award or reimburse submission costs.
BARDA seeks information from both small businesses and other-than-small businesses regarding first-in-class antifungal candidates currently in Phase 2 clinical trials or beyond for treating drug-resistant fungal infections, specifically Candida species (including Candida auris) and Aspergillus species. Respondents must provide comprehensive detail across six areas: antifungal candidate overview (including pathogens targeted, clinical indications, and formulations available in both IV and oral forms), clinical development status (Phase 1, 2, and 3 trial designs, safety data, and final clinical study reports), nonclinical studies and efficacy data, manufacturing details (drug substance and product manufacturing status, process validation, stability testing, and domestic manufacturing capacity), procurement requirements (ability to deliver final drug product to the Strategic National Stockpile or maintain as vendor-managed inventory), and commercialization strategy with a Target Product Profile. Responses are limited to 12 single-sided pages. Respondents must clearly mark any confidential or proprietary information; unmarked submissions will be presumed to have unlimited rights.
