The U.S. Department of the Treasury, United States Mint, is interesting in identifying vendors offering existing technologies, systems, and products to deter counterfeiting of precious metal coins and medals, circulating coins, Certificates of Authenticity (COAs) and packaging associated with United States Mint products. This includes application of overt and/or covert features as well as detection of counterfeit product. Information and capabilities submitted for consideration will be reviewed for inherent and relative effectiveness and may be further assessed by the United States Mint. The United States Mint may decide to meet with one or more companies and/or individuals to conduct market research. Not being selected for further evaluation does not mean that you are precluded from participating in any future solicitation, if one is issued.
For initial market research purposes, interested parties are requested to submit via email:
1. Identify the area of interest (coins/medals, COAs, and/or packaging).
2. A brief technical description of the existing technology/product and capability of your organization; statement limit 2 pages.
3. Number of years in business offering the technology and a sample/reference list of customers.
4. Please indicate if your business is a HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned, or women owned small business firm relative to North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339999, All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturers.
No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response. The U.S. Government and the United States Mint shall not be liable for the disclosure or use of any information submitted under this RFI.
