About this opportunity

The U.S. Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources capable of providing C-130 production and spare engines. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 and is not a solicitation for proposals. The Air Force emphasizes that this does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) nor promises a future RFP will be issued. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing and PSC code 2840 for Gas Turbines and Jet Engines, Aircraft, Prime Moving, and Components. Interested parties must submit their responses by October 8, 2025, with the RFI having been posted on September 3, 2025. The government will not compensate respondents for any costs incurred in preparing responses to this market research effort.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. The notice does not identify any current incumbents or existing contractors for these services. No specific award values, budget ranges, or quantities for the C-130 engines are disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The RFI was recently updated to fix permissions errors that prevented approved requestors from accessing the attached documents. The timeline for services and specific technical requirements are expected to be detailed in the attached RFI documentation rather than in this summary notice. All responses will be treated as information only and cannot form the basis of a binding contract under Federal Acquisition Regulation 15.201(e).
