About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command seeks repair of a REV-1(FO) motor for the No. One Refrigeration Plant Compressor aboard the USS Tripoli (LHA-7), with quotations due August 9, 2026. Award is restricted to firms holding current active Master Agreement for Repair and Alteration of Vessels (MARV) agreements with NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka; no small business set-aside applies.

Place of performance is Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan (U.S. Naval Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center). The work entails inspection and repair of a 50-horsepower General Electric electric motor (Model 225B7033, MFR ID 5K326NS283H, rated 62.5 amps, 440 VAC, 1800 RPM, 60 Hz, 3-phase continuous duty with Class B insulation). Scope includes inspecting the controller, cables, and mounting hardware for damage and deterioration; verifying correct overload settings per motor nameplate specifications; standard maintenance including cleaning and preservation of motor housing and components; and balancing of rotating assemblies. The motor has been offloaded and disassembled; contractors are not responsible for removal or crane support. Government-furnished materials include bearing assemblies and gaskets. Related work on coupling removal, installation, and alignment, as well as operational testing of the complete refrigeration system, will be conducted under separate job order JON 38DJA51605-H01.

Period of performance is August 17 through November 30, 2026, with anticipated award date of July 24 and production completion by October 30, 2026. Quotations must be submitted in Japanese Yen using the FY26 Budget Exchange Rate of JPY 150.4415 per USD 1.00, with payment via Electronic Funds Transfer. The contract will be firm-fixed-price under an existing MARV, either a Master Ship Repair Agreement or Agreement for Boat Repair in the Japan Region. All FAR, DFARS, NAVSEA, and overseas compliance requirements apply; inspection and acceptance occur at SRF and JRMC Yokosuka. Amendment 0001 (August 7) published Q&A and clarified motor removal scope. NAICS code is 336611 (Ship Building and Repairing); PSC is J999 (Non-Nuclear Ship Repair, West).
