About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting market research for the procurement of a Reticle Assembly (NSN 1240017012910, Part Number SCO-RP-006), an optical component used in defense applications. This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from potential manufacturers and suppliers regarding their capability to produce this item to the same quality standards as the current Original Equipment Manufacturer. Interested contractors must be willing to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package that comprehensively demonstrates their manufacturing capability is equal to or superior to the incumbent OEM's standards. The evaluation will focus on technical documentation, quality assurance, and production capability as outlined in the DLA Land and Maritime Alternate Offer/Source Approval Request Program guidelines. Responses to the market research questionnaire must be submitted by April 24, 2026, with all inquiries and information directed to Zachary Mullins at Zachary.mullins@dla.mil.

This procurement carries no small business set-aside designation. Trijicon, Inc. (CAGE Code 0FL29) is the current approved source for this reticle assembly. The market research indicates an estimated annual demand of approximately 350 units, which will inform the contract's value and structure. The anticipated Long-Term Contract (LTC) will feature a base period of one to three years with single option years thereafter, as indicated in the market research questionnaire. Potential contractors should be prepared to provide pricing information for various quantity breaks and delivery timelines, along with their minimum order requirements and manufacturing lead times. No specific contract award value has been disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, as the market research phase is designed to gather information that will shape the formal solicitation strategy.
