The U. S. Geological Survey Pacific Coastal and Marine Geology (PCMG) has a requirement for a vessel to conduct geophysical survey operations from Point Sal to Goleta, CA. The planned window of operations will be September 4-17, 2014. USGS Field personnel will mobilize geophysical systems on the vessel on or about September 3 at King's Harbor, Los Angeles, CA. Survey operations will be conducted 24 hours a day. The vessel will lay overnight in local ports and harbors in the study area when possible as the survey proceeds along the coast, returning to a local port of opportunity for fuel and provisions when necessary. The geophysical systems will be demobilized on or about September 18 at King's Harbor, Los Angeles, CA.
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is G14PS00372 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-73, effective 29 April 2014.
Please see solicitation with CLINS, technical specifications, provisions, and clauses. Quotations are due no later than 05:00pm ET on 19 May 2014. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract on or about 26 May 2014. In accordance to FAR 5.204-7 all firms must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) database at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.
