About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) is conducting market research via Request for Information to modernize its Research Science Network end-user infrastructure, with responses due by June 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. This RFI carries no obligation or commitment from the Government and will not result in contract award.
USAMRIID seeks to address security vulnerabilities and instability in current outdated switching systems. The requirement specifies delivery of Cisco Catalyst platforms: 20 units of C9350-48HX with power supplies, network modules, stacking cables, and licenses; 2 units of C9500-48Y4C-1E with power supplies and licenses; 2 units of C9200CX-12P-2X2G-E; and 1 unit of C9200CX-8UXG-2X-E with DNA Essentials licenses and rackmount equipment. All equipment must be new, unused, sourced through Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM-authorized resellers, and eligible for full OEM warranty and support.
Switches must meet 22 minimum essential characteristics including enterprise-class Layer 2 and Layer 3 management, non-blocking architecture, IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack support, PoE capabilities, VLAN segmentation, advanced security features (MACsec, ACLs, DHCP snooping), QoS functionality, secure management protocols (SSHv2, HTTPS, SNMPv3), TACACS+/RADIUS authentication, FIPS-validated cryptographic support, and firmware integrity validation. Delivery is to USAMRIID at 1425 Porter Street, Fort Detrick, Maryland 21702. Responses in Microsoft Word or PDF format (maximum 10 pages, excluding cover page) should address how small business sources can fulfill requirements and confirm commercial-market availability. Submit to Kirstin Quinn, Contract Specialist, and Emily O'Hara, Contracting Officer.
