GENERAL GUIDANCE

1. BACKGROUND:

Research subject recruitment is vital to all of our Veterans Affairs (VA) research projects in the realm of human studies. The VA Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR) has approx. 90% of its funded research studies in the human studies realm. Without research participants, we would not be able to conduct our research. As researchers, we try multiple ways to recruit participants for our studies. However, recruitment is very much influenced by multiple factors that we cannot control. VA CVNR researchers need a reliable source of advertising that has been shown in the past that it is a successful recruitment tool for our specific population needs in the Atlanta area.

Regulatory Management:

All language in the recruitment advertisements will be approved for use by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), the VA Research & Development (R&D) Committee, and the Atlanta VA Public Affairs Office.
