About this opportunity

The General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking qualified vendors that can provide smart sensor technology installation, upgrade, maintenance, and support services. The RFI is part of the agency's market research efforts to determine the availability of sources and alternative support strategies to meet its requirements.

The objective of this RFI is to identify vendors capable of delivering scalable and interoperable smart sensor solutions to support GSA's various mission areas, including public health initiatives, facility management, and portfolio planning. Key requirements outlined in the RFI include the ability to efficiently install accurate sensors, provide flexibility in data acquisition, protect privacy, support third-party integrations, and adhere to GSA's IT security policies. Vendors are asked to provide capability statements, anticipated requirement specifications, generic cost estimates, and technical questions. Responses to this RFI are due by July 31, 2024, and will not result in the award of a contract, as this is an informational request only.

Notice text

The Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 requires the Government to conduct market research before developing new requirements documents for an acquisition. Results of market research will be used to determine whether qualified sources exist and if alternative support strategies will meet Government requirements.

One of the ways the Government conducts market research is to issue a Request for Information (RFI).

In accordance with FAR 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997), this Request for Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), Invitation for Bids (IFB) or an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any services. Responses to this RFI are not offers and can/will not be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government reserves the right to determine how it should proceed as a result of this notice. Furthermore, those who respond to this RFI should not anticipate feedback with regard to their submission. The Government will not pay any cost incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party’s expense. The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Follow up demos may be requested by GSA to gain further information regarding products/services. If necessary, demonstrations will be virtual on a GSA-hosted web platform for no longer than 2 hours in duration, with allotted time for questions from the GSA review panel.
