About this opportunity
The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking vendors with expertise in securely managing and analyzing administrative health data. MACPAC is a Congressional agency that requires contractors with proven experience working with federal and state health agencies on projects involving restricted-use datasets. The RFI specifically targets vendors capable of handling Medicaid claims data and other information subject to HIPAA protections. This information-gathering initiative focuses on identifying qualified contractors who can support MACPAC's data management and analysis needs. The notice emphasizes that this is purely an informational request and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment for future contracting opportunities.
The primary objective of this RFI is to identify vendors who can demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in health data management, including understanding of Medicaid and Medicare policy and data analysis. Interested vendors must submit responses electronically through a secure online portal by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on September 19, 2025, with questions directed to katherine.rogers@macpac.gov. Eligibility criteria require contractors to operate systems meeting federal government security requirements, hold active government security certifications or authority to operate from federal agencies, and possess existing access or the ability to gain access to relevant data sources such as T-MSIS, TAF, and Medicare MBSF. The RFI requests detailed information about system architecture, data security alignment with FISMA and NIST standards, FedRAMP certification status, and examples of recent projects involving Medicaid and Medicare data storage and analysis. MACPAC emphasizes that responses are voluntary and will not result in contracts, awards, or commitments of any kind.
