About this opportunity

NASA's Kennedy Space Center has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gauge industry interest in utilizing the Launch Equipment Test Facility (LETF) at the world's premier spaceport. The RFI is part of market research conducted by the Spaceport Development Division to assess commercial and government interest in specific aspects of the KSC Master Plan. The notice has been amended three times, with the most recent amendment extending the response deadline to July 25, 2025, and providing answers to industry questions. The LETF offers comprehensive testing capabilities including full-scale launch hardware testing, ground-to-flight umbilical interface testing, vehicle motion simulators, cryogenic systems, and specialized fabrication shops. NASA is seeking operational concepts for either partial areas of the facility or entire facility operations.

The primary objective of this RFI is to identify potential partners interested in utilizing LETF services and explore various operational models for facility usage. Interested U.S. domestic entities, including federal and state agencies and commercial providers, must submit electronic PDF responses not exceeding 20 pages by 5:00 pm Eastern Time on July 25, 2025. Responses should address proposed use, technical approach, potential modifications, limitations, corporate financial capability, and prior experience. NASA hosted an Industry Day on June 18, 2025, with an additional opportunity scheduled for July 1, 2025, requiring written requests for participation by June 27, 2025. The facility supports multiple space programs including Space Shuttle, Space Station, Space Launch Services, and commercial ventures, offering testing capabilities across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and cryogenic domains. This RFI is strictly for information gathering purposes and does not constitute a commitment to contract.
