About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps is issuing a Request for Information on water desalination equipment anticipated for deployment in Pacific Island Countries, with responses due by October 5, 2026. This is a market-sounding effort, not a formal procurement, and carries no set-aside.
The Marine Corps seeks vendor input on commercially available desalination capabilities, cost estimates, order and delivery lead times, and supportability across Pacific islands and other regions with water supply challenges and limited infrastructure. Respondents should provide production metrics—potable water output per day or equivalent performance measures—for each system. The Corps acknowledges the difficulty in providing cost estimates without a defined order quantity and requests vendors offer their best estimates based on typical configurations or anticipated demand scenarios.
This RFI does not commit the Marine Corps to a procurement action and serves as preliminary market research to inform future acquisition strategy and budgeting. Vendors responding should address both equipment specifications and in-theater logistics and support capabilities relevant to Pacific operations.

Water desalination equipment available to be utilized in Pacific islands generally.
What is the sum of your desalination capabilities in theater, specifically in the Pacific Island Countries or other countries with water supply challenges and limited infrastructure?
We would like to know what the capabilities are that currently exist, what is commercially available for procurement, cost estimates, order and delivery lead times, and any other relevant information regarding this.
We understand that without a set quantity to order that this may be difficult to define. Please provide your best estimates. Recommend including how much water each machine can produce as potable water per day, or whatever metric the capability presents.
