About this opportunity
Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit information and capabilities from potential sources regarding the procurement of a turn-key cold spray system for material deposition and repair applications. The Department of the Army seeks a commercially available cold spray system capable of precise material deposition to support mechanical repairs of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, including repair and coating of metal components. The system must be designed to meet stringent operational standards and provide optimal performance for various applications. The RFI requests detailed information on cold spray system specifications, including the type of gas used, powder particle size ranges, powder feed rates, and nozzle sizes and shapes, among other technical capabilities. The submission deadline for responses to this RFI is May 15, 2026, with the notice having been posted on April 29, 2026. It is important to note that this RFI is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation, commitment by the government, or a requirement to submit proposals.
This pre-solicitation notice does not utilize any small business set-asides, and no incumbent contractor information has been identified in the announcement. The RFI does not specify an award value or budget range for the potential procurement, nor does it provide details regarding the quantity of systems needed or the anticipated timeline for system delivery and installation. No evaluation criteria for the RFI responses have been disclosed at this stage, as the government is gathering market information to inform future procurement strategy. Respondents should note that no funds are available to reimburse preparation costs for RFI responses, and all submitted information is strictly voluntary. This RFI falls under the NAICS category 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing), which indicates the procurement relates to specialized industrial equipment manufacturing.
