About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is seeking information on sensing and detection technologies related to defending against divers and unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs) in various maritime environments. The government is interested in technologies that can support detection, tracking, and engagement of potential undersea threats in port, harbor, open ocean, and strait scenarios. Key performance requirements include operational capabilities across different environments, specified detection criteria, fire control systems, endurance, and overall system performance. Respondents are asked to provide information on their capabilities, industry's ability to meet demand, technical and business risks, and a proposed solution concept. Responses to this Request for Information are due by May 30, 2024 and should be submitted via email to the identified points of contact.
This is an RFI only and not a formal solicitation for proposals. There is no set-aside designation provided, and no information on potential incumbents or award values was included in the notice. The government has not specified a budget or quantity range for the desired technologies.
Notice text
The Government is seeking sensing and detection technologies related to underway vessel and open ocean defense against divers and UUVs. Further information is sought on general purpose effects, both kinetic and non-kinetic for the defeat of UUVs in port, harbor, open ocean, and straits or chokepoints navigated by blue force assets. These technologies should support detection, tracking, and the subsequent fire control necessary for engagement of potential undersea manned and unmanned threats.
Please review the attached RFI document in its entirety. For questions and submissions, please email the below POCs and include the notice ID in the subject line. If you do not receive acknowledgement of receipt of questions or submissions, please send a followup email. This is a RFI and not a formal solicitation nor is this a request for proposals.
