This is a notice of intent to award a noncompetitive purchase order to Australian Scientific Instruments, Canberra, Australia for replacement/upgrade hardware to the U.S. Geological Survey-Stanford University owned and maintained Sensitive High-Resolution Ion Microprobe with Reverse Geometry (SHRIMP-RG).
The U.S. Geological Survey, Energy and Minerals, requires 1) one iFlex dual current/charge mode electrometer unit and associated IPCM counter, ROM cabling, Input node adapter, and diaphragm pump designed for the Stanford SHRIMP-RG, 2) a SHRIMP-RG secondary beam monitor (SBM) blade, 3) a Field Controller Mk4 (FC4) output module, a 4) Kratos Special duoplasmatron deflector insulator and spare, and 5) component hardware for a SHRIMP-RG energy scan motor drive.
Award will be made to Australian Scientific Instruments (ASI) in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) and the procedures at FAR Part 12 entitled, Acquisition of Commercial Items. ASI is the manufacturer of the SHRIMP-RG and the only known source for the needed items.
All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. All quotations or inquiries must be submitted to the Contracting Officer via email at jjanes@usgs.gov no later than the closing date of this announcement at 17:00 EST. As required by FAR 5.101(a)(1), Request for Quote (G16PS00283) is available through the Contracting Officer at jjanes@usgs.gov.
The NAICS code for this action is 334516 ¿ Specific ion measuring instruments, laboratory-type, manufacturing, for which the associated size standard is 500 employees. This notice and any resulting solicitation and/or award conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-86, effective 01 Feb 2016.
