About this opportunity
The 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, through the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command, has published a Special Notice for the replacement of an upper boom assembly on a 2007 Altec bucket truck used for electrical line repairs. This is not a competitive solicitation but rather a notice of the government's intent to award a single-source contract to Altec Industries, Inc. under FAR 13.106-1(b) authority. The procurement includes replacement of the upper boom assembly, structural load testing, and dielectric testing to ensure compliance with safety standards. The Air Force has determined that Altec Industries is the only source capable of providing the proprietary bucket assembly that meets required American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and manufacturer safety standards.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to conduct market research and provide other potential sources an opportunity to demonstrate their capability to perform the required work before proceeding with the single-source award. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by August 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST via email to specified Air Force contracting personnel. These submissions must include technical data, cost information, and convincing evidence demonstrating the ability to meet all requirements, as requests for documentation or submissions containing only questions will not be considered valid responses. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received, and any capability statements submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed. This notice falls under NAICS code 811198 for automotive repair and maintenance services.
