About this opportunity

The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is seeking contractors capable of replacing the twin screw extruder (TSE) at their Phoenix Rearing Facility. The new TSE must be capable of producing up to 450 kg of finished navel orangeworm diet per hour, along with supporting solid and liquid materials feeders. The contractor will be responsible for removing the existing equipment, installing the new system, performing required testing, and training facility staff. A site visit is required before submitting a bid. The contract will be awarded based on the contractor's ability to meet the technical specifications and delivery schedule.

This procurement is not set-aside for any particular business type. The current TSE is the only incumbent equipment, and the government has not provided any details on potential award values or budget ranges. The facility currently produces and ships approximately 1.5 million insects per day, so the replacement of the critical TSE equipment is a key operational requirement.
