THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation IFBP04181600003 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Repair Water Well Filters at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Terre Haute.

FCC Terre Haute is a federal correctional complex located at 4700 Bureau Road, Terre Haute, IN 47802. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the complete construction of the work. The purpose of the project is to repair/replace defective system parts and complete necessary filter repairs. Specifically, the contractor will modify the influent water supply in order to fill the filter chambers completely at a lower pressure (from 80psi to 15psi) of water before backflush begins in order to prevent filters from being hit with a full pressure back wash cycle with a large air gap in the filter chamber.

The performance period for the project will be 91 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed.

Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $100,000 and $2500,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.)
