Update #2 · Latest ·

Repair structural column, beams, slabs, and wall damages due to water intrusion within GK- 010, GK-016, GP-196, and GP-corridor locations. Continual leaks cause numerous occupant relocations and closure of a vital auditorium conference facility and damage to its audio/visual equipment. Mold issues require frequent air quality testing and ponding water causes slip hazards for employees. The project area cuts through the GP corridor and small auditorium, and the expansion joint jogs at grid line K from grid line 22 to grid line 23. The area is below the South Building and North Building Ground Floor areas below. The project area is located within a public corridor that is one of the main connections between two parts of the building – it will be disruptive as the work may take longer than other projects with the installation of the column. There are significant concerns about continued spalling of the delaminated concrete in this area. Given the sizes of the columns in this area, “sister†columns may be added to support column repair/replace.
