 Description

The purpose of this synopsis is to notify industry of the Air Forces' intent to award a Sole Source follow on contract directed towards the Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, Inc. with a Cage Code of 99167 pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c )(1) and 10 USC2304(d)(1)(i)(ii), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, Inc. is the only source with the technical expertise, and proprietary data, parts, assembly and disassembly procedures necessary to provide continued support of this repair effort.  The Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and the only responsible source that can satisfy the agency requirement and provide these unique skills to meet the KC-135R Generator Rotor repair requirement.

The generator rotor is a precision balanced component of the main electrical generator for the KC135R aircraft. This rotor spins on specialized bearings at 12,000 rpm within the generator stators and provides controlled magnetic coupling to the stator windings for production of 200 volts alternating current at a constant 400 Hertz electrical power for all KC-135R loads. The rotor was specifically designed for the KC-135R generator. All design data, specialized tools, and required components for repair of the generator rotor are proprietary to the OEM. This upcoming effort will entail a non-commercial solution for repair.

The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Codes are as follows:
